why is it ethically wrong to market a drug that counteracts side effects of a previous drug
It is ethically wrong to market a drug that counteracts side effects of a previous drug for the following ethical reasons in the medical field.
Beneficence – This principle suggests that the medicine’s ultimate aim should bring some good and not harm to the patient and in this place, they market a drug that is harmful.
Veracity means being honest with the patients by telling them the truth about the possible side effects of the drug that they are marketing.
Avoidance of killing – When the drug counteracts with another drug’s side effects, it could even kill the patient but medical ethics states that killing a human being is a crime because life is sacred.
Autonomy – This principle states that people are independent and they are capable of taking decisions, especially about the medical decisions and one shouldn’t force them or persuade them to buy certain medicines.
Fidelity – Any physician or pharmaceutical company should put the patient’s interest and care before anything such as money, profit etc.
