Some state and local police departments have designated the wearing of soft body armor as optional. Do you think it should be mandatory? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, as per it should be mandatory to wear body armour because-

1) As in present current situation we have seen so many people and mass killing on churches ,school and public place .As per the crimes happenings around the society it should be mandatory to wear body armour because-

There are only police to whom normal citizens are dependent for the safety of their life. If the saver won't be safe while helping the innocent citizen from mass firing then how we can fight back to criminals.

2) Safety is always better than the negligence. If a police officer is on the duty and suddenly an voilence act happens in front of him. It would be difficult to fire a bullet to criminal because he will fire back and chances of an innocent and honest police office might get died because of the firing from.the criminals. It should be mandatory.

3) As their are many protest are happening and stone pelting,firing took places. If we don't let our police officers to wear body armour then the killing rate of officers in these kind of violent situations will increase and new generation starts neglecting joining the police force.

This vest encourages the new generation to enter to civilian security forces and help our police officers to fight strongly with the criminals with confident .

Any safety is better than the bad incidents.
