Do you think the ability to recognize genetic relatedness would be a trait favored by natural selection? Explain your reasoning.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Genitic relatedness is simply means thatprecentage of similar genes shared by the siblings.the sex cells, sperm and egg forming by a special type of cell division known as meiosis.During the meiosis the chromososmes are exchanging the part by crossing over .So the produced sperm and egg almost pocess a different genotype from the parents. The sex cells combines and producing the zygote and it become an embryo and aa young one.During the meiosis arrangment of chromosome patterns also cause the variation amoung the siblings.

The precentage normally 50%normaly from father and 50% from mother in the case of genotype of a offspring bu the whole genotype never similar to the parents this may leads to the variation.Natural selection mainly based on the variation .This theory put forwared nature select the favoured charecter. So favourable character only existing.

when analysing the pedigree of oarganism usually we can sea the genetic relatedness almost favoured trait repeating its maily due to the natural selection.

Darwin argued that natural selection would never cause a trait to evolve in one species that benefitted another species at a fitness expense to the first species. A study of egrets in Florida found that parents eject some of their own chicks from the next. This behavior feeds alligators living in the swamps below the nests. The steady supply of food improves the health and condition of the alligators. In view of Darwin’s logic, what are two hypotheses that might...

Meanwhile, the other biological parent of your children does not possess the trait. •Explain why you think the trait in the scenario is dominant or recessive. •Based upon your response, describe why it would or would not be possible for the trait in the scenario to “skip” a generation. •Patterns of inheritance within organisms like pea plants,...
