Design a cell transduction cascade that communicates the presence
of a target organism attacking a crop. The pathway must use a
G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR), Recptor Tyrosine Kinases (RTK),
or ion channel protein as a receptor. Make sure you fully
illustrate the mechanism.
The cascade must also include: at least six steps (not
including initiation); a single binding event that results in a
10,000 fold amplification of the signal (indicate where the
amplification occurs); at least two points of negative regulation
(you don't need to illustrate the regulation mechanisms); and
result in a protein that functions as a transcription factor
(TF).
