The network model was developed by the CODASYL database task group in 1969.

When we want to design a database their is a variety of database models Relational, hierarchical and network model . network models are more famous models . Network model allows creating more complex and more strong queries as compared to other hierarchical database model.

Their are two types of network model 1-OSI model,2-Internet model.

A.DOD model-----It stand for department of Defense model .It is a condensed version of the OSI model.It defines protocols for node to node application communication and also controls user interface specifications.

B.OSI model-------This model stand for open systems interconnection model .it describes seven layer and also describes how information from a software application in one computer moves through a physical medium to the software application in another computer.

C.RINA------RINA stand for Recursive Internetwork Architecture is a new computer network.RINA fundamental principles are just inter process communication or IPC with a single recurring set of protocol rather than based on function with specialized protocol.It is a clean slate internet architecture that builds on a very basic premise.
