SEA- Sulphur Extended Asphalt
Its effects should be considered during storage, construction, operation and maintainence. Most of adverse effects occurs during pavements operations and handling situations. Airborne gas fumes and colloidal matter of sulfur emits which causes irritation to the eyes and throat. Gases like H2S(Hydrogen Sulphide) which emits durind paving is highly toxic which affects Central Nervous System and Respiratory Function. SO3(Sulphur Trioxide) & SO2(Sulphur Dioxide) also emits which has their several adverse effects.
During process of mixing and paving, vapours forms which later came into the breathing air, gets condensed and forms tiny size crystals which blows with sand particles with air and gets their effects on human health and other environmental species. Environmental impacts on soil, plants life and animals can be according to time exposure during paving.
