Success is an important component in career building and part of your success revolves around the creation of personal goals as the discussion note suggests. Has anyone heard of the DUMB goal concept? Generally, these are goals that focus on your passions and might even seem impossible. So, thinking in this way, if you could do absolutely anything in the world, what would it be? How might this become a goal?
My DUMB goal would be to start an NGO to help empower women and offer better and free education to the underprivileged children.
This becomes a goal because, even though it is a passion driven dream goal, it is not easily attainable considering the scale and impact it needs to have. There may be many NGO’s already in existence, but it is not enough, we can still see that the world needs more help and support in making it a much better and sustainable place for one and all. There are many kids from poorer sections of society who do not have access to the best in education hence their talents and potentials going to waste. Also, women who maybe dependent on others or living in very deplorable and abusive circumstances and situations looking for a way out, need a helping hand to steady them and make them independent and empowered. Hence, creating and building a strong NGO to help and serve those in need and also to help in building good and bright futures is a doable dream-driven goal to be realized and achieved.
