Data and logic flow are key to the “user experience” as we know it to be today. Website user experience is important for analysts to develop a high “user return” rate. This is accomplished by a positive user experience due to positive web interface development. What website design principles do you think are most important when capturing and presenting data interactively? Why? Comment from personal experience about using or designing sites. What mistakes do you feel are most often made by designers?

  1. The design of the user interface must focus on rich user experience. The user interface may include graphics, text, animations, interactive elements which may work together to enrich the user experience.
  2. The designs in the user interface may not confuse users and the designs should be simple and clear. Like due to some designs, the user may unable to find the action button on the interface which may confuse users. Animations on each button click wastes the time of users.

Mistakes that are made by designers are as follows:

  1. The designers are not able to understand the instructions which are given to them in order to make an user interface. If the designers are not able to understand the instructions they should ask from te client again.
  2. The designers sometimes overthink. There are too many things that can be aded to a design but that does not mean to overdesign something.

“We know that how we present data often can affect the audience’s conclusions about the data. In a recent article from Travel Weekly on the Department of Transportation’s on-time stats for airline arrivals, the argument is made that the airline industry pads its own statistics in order reap cost benefits, which may or may not be passed on to consumers. Is the reporting difference an ethical breach of confidence between the consumer and the industry?”

The breaking strength of yarn supplied by two manufacturers is being investigated. We know from experience with the manufacturers’ processes that σ1 = 5 psi and σ2 = 4 psi. A random sample of 20 test specimens from each manufacturer results in x¯1 = 88 psi and x¯2 = 91 psi. (a) Show all steps (including how to find cutoff value) and construct a two-sided 90% Confidence Interval for the true difference in means. Draw a conclusion on whether yarn...

Urban planners in Melbourne average 10.2 years’ experience. We know this from a Census of urban planners, but the raw data was lost, so we cannot use the data to compute σ. What an inconvenience!    (a) In a random sample of 65 urban planners in Melbourne’s growth areas, the average was 8.7 years with a standard deviation of 0.52. Are growth-areas planners significantly less experienced than the metropolitan average? Presume alpha = 0.05 (b) The same sample of urban...

An Internet user wants to know the average download speed for his Internet connection. Suppose we know that the standard deviation is 7 mbps. He runs a speed test everyday at noon for 30 days. The average speed of the tests was 13.68 mbps. Construct a 95% confidence interval for the average speed of this Internet connection at noon.

we are going to focus on basic logic and how you can use logic outside of the classroom. Unfortunately, many of our daily interactions include logical errors. Respond to the following prompts in a minimum of 175 words: Consider a recent interaction you have had with a co-worker or item that you saw in the media that might have included logical errors. Share the example as well as the logical errors that are present in the example. Be sure to...

We instinctively know that clean data = quality data. However, it is important to understand how data that has not been cleansed can negatively impact business decisions. a. Share your interpretation of data cleansing. Use your own words and avoid overly complex explanations. b. Describe at least 3 decisions a business with which you are familiar (either through your work or your research) may make as a result of data mining. c. Discuss the negative impact of data that has...

We know from our key business cycle facts that employment N is procyclical. Therefore, in a boom (recession), output Y and N would typically both increase (decrease). However, since output is more variable than employment, Y/N is procyclical since Y will typically increase (decrease) proportionately more than N during a boom (recession). Could you please explain the answer to this

When preparing a statement of cash flow using the indirect method, I know we start with the net income amount from the income statement and make adjustments to non cash expenses such as depreciation and amortization. My question is, why is cost of goods sold not included in these non cash expenses? It is a non-cash expense, is it not? A customer could purchase an item on credit, and we would debit cost of goods sold without any cash exchanging...
