Specify the benefits (if any) of using visuals aids or other support to deliver a speech.
Many experts in public speaking discuss the importance of ‘word choices’, when preparing a speech. What is your understanding of this concept? Give at least one example.
Provide an example of a public speaking situation or event you have been exposed to or watched and give your impressions (positive, negative, or mixed opinions):
There are many benefits of using visual aids while delivering a
speech such as:
• The audience becomes much more attentive.
• The content is transferred and communicated in a much
better manner.
• The session at times becomes more interactive and
fruitful.
Word choices should be as per the audience , there should be a
clear understanding of the intelligence if the audience , how
sensitive the audience is etc. and basis that the words should be
chosen to clearly communicate the idea.
Example: In a political speech the minister cannot use religious
sensitive words as it can backfire.
The example of a public speaking event that I witnessed was the
speech of Mr. Narendra Modi where he addresses thousands of people.
It was one of the finest speeches that I have ever heard in which
almost all topics were covered and the tone that he used really
connected the audience and most importantly he was aware that how
many pauses and at what point pauses were required.
