Make an initial post regarding the Decision Ethics issue from page 113 of the textbook. As you consider this issue, keep the following scripture from Leviticus in mind. As part of your answer, thoughtfully explain how the verse helps guide our decision-making. Financial Officer At year-end, the president instructs you, the financial officer, not to record accrued expenses until next year because they will not be paid until then. The president also directs you to record in current-year sales a recent purchase order from a customer that requires merchandise to be delivered two weeks after the year-end. Your company would report a net income instead of a net loss if you carry out these instructions. What do you do? ■ "Do not use dishonest standards when measuring length, weight or quantity. Use honest scales and honest weights, an honest ephah and an honest hin. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt." Leviticus 19:35-36 include two words a) ephan - it means dry measure with volume of 22 liter & second word b) hin- it means liquid measure with volume 3.8 liters.

Now question of ethics & records -

In given case internal dilemma get develop in accountant mind due to instruction given by president & verse. This seems controversial.

1. Now according to business law - master is responsible for his servant. And business is governed by business law and not by ethics.

2. Regarding ethics - in front of god every standard hold equal & same worth .More depth god never measure physical quantity, for god one hole is sufficient to drain whole water. But in ethics limits not exist as Concept Empire of god is unlimited. Hence keeping money at upper pocket or at lower makes no difference. Also in spiritual sense there is no difference in past present & future. Hence thinking & recording for tomorrow become void.

3. Being accountant here is question of recording amount & not mater like liquid or solid.

4. As accountant thinks he himself as dishonest to god, but god know very well that accountant is not using self mind or brain for personal profit but following instructions from president.

Thus reporting net income become essential and seems more helpful for business survival purpose, and making survival is honest efforts than reporting net loss and let it get kill honestly.

Making survival is kind which is practiced by president behalf GOD. But this lesion doesn't permit to dishonest for ever or support any dishonest practice.
