Please TYPE approximately 300 words discussing the following:
List and describe various features of electronic systems.
List and discuss the steps in designing an embedded system.
Electronic system:
In our daily life we use most of the applications from Electronic
systems.
Most of the electronic systems have many inputs and outputs.
The inputs may be found Treasure temperature noise and humidity
etc.
Sensors and transducers are used to convert the analogue signal
into electrical signal.
Electronic systems process the electrical signals from sensors and
gives desired output.
Electronic systems maybe digital or analogue based on
application.
For example FM radio an electronic system which has following
features.
In FM our voice signal converted to electrical signal by use of
microphone and that electrical signal
Converted to FM signal by use of an oscillator. Then FM signal is
converted to electromagnetic signal and then transmitted into the
free space at the receiver side receiving antenna take the signal
and converted into voice signal again.
From the above example be clearly understood that how electronic
systems are useful in our daily life.
Some more examples of Electronics systems:
Audio amplifier, AC to DC Converter, analogue to digital
converters, input devices for embedded applications. Etc.
Embedded systems:
These are the microprocessor based applications which are used to
satisfy our daily needs.
Designing of an embedded system has following steps:
1)First we need to identify the requirement
2)Then pre requirement analysis of system
3)Analysis of Hardware requirements , firmware requirements and
software requirements.
4)Choose suitable microprocessor for our design.
5)Power requirement analysis
6)Hardware design
7)Hardware test cases to check whether hardware is working or
not
8)Firmware design and test cases
9)Overall system test cases to check weather our functionality
achieved or not.
Some examples of embedded systems:
Vending machine
Automatic teller machine
Any automated system which you see in your surroundings is nothing
but embedded system.
