Describe how you would collect a sample that gave each person in the population an equal chance of being sampled.
In Random sampling, each person in the population an equal chance of being included. Random sampling is one of the best methods for collecting data from the total population.
Suppose if you want to select the 40 students from the class of 100 students. Each student has an equal chance of getting selected. Here the probability of selection is 1/100 and we can select the 40 students randomly without any biasedness.
An unbiased random selection of individuals is important so that if many samples were drawn, the average sample would accurately represent the population.
The simple random sampling method is used when we don’t have any kind of prior information about the target population. In this case, the sampling process is very important for researchers to study.
This process is also known as randomization in which each individual in the population has an equal opportunity to be selected for the sample.
