What are the characteristics of the EMG? Bandwidth (frequency content)? Magnitude (amplitude)? How will determining the bandwidth guide your filter design? How will determining the amplitude guide your amplifier design? Using these criteria and support information, roughly design an amplifier (provide a circuit schematic) to accomplish these tasks. What will be the gain of your amplifier, what type of filter do you need, what are the cut off frequencies?

Solutions

Expert Solution

the surface electromyography (sEMG) signal is a biomedical signal that measures electrical currents generated in muscles .the frequency of an EMG signal is between 0 to 500 hz.However ,the usable energy of emg signal is dominate between 50-150hz.the important characterstics and frequency spectrum of EMG signal is defined.

Bandwidth

Bandwidth is the capacity of wired or wireless network communications link to transmit the maximum amount of data from one point to another over a computer network or internet connection in a given amount of time usually

usally one second

Amplitude

The extend of range of a quality property process or phenomenon such as a the extent of viberator movement measured from the mean position to an extreme . the maximum depature of the value of an alternating current or wave from the average value

in electronics gain is a measure of ability of a two port circuit to increase the power or amplitude of a signal from input to output port by adding energy converted from some power supply to signal . it is usally defined as the mean ratio of the signal amplitude or power input port. It is often expressed using the logarithum deciabrl units.A gain greater than one ,that is amplification is the defining property of an active component or circuit while a passive circuit will have a gain of less than one.

The term gain alone is ambiguous , and can refer to the ratio of output to input voltage , current or electric power .in the field of audio and general purpose amplifiers ,the terms usally refers to voltage gain.Furthermore, the term gain also applied in systems such as sensors where the input and the systems such as sensors.
