Explain how Civil Liberties and Civil Rights address global warming through carbon emissions (300 words).
First we need to acknowledge the fact that "What has climate change got to do with human rights". UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) was already noted that “climate change-related impacts have a range of implications, both direct and indirect, for the effective enjoyment of human rights…”.
Climate change is thus having a direct and adverse impact on fundamental rights and human rights that are set out in international conventions and in national constitutions. We need to acknowledge that climate change poses a threat to the entire human race, but the poorest people, the most economically weak nations and future generations worldwide will suffer the most who has least contributed in greenhousing or generating carbon prints.
Now let's take a look at what actions that have been taken by international human rights so far: There are few some of it are following below.
The ultimate objective of these and other initiatives must be to take this discussion from a theoretical level to a practical one which inspires urgent, immediate, rights-based action to mitigate and adapt to the negative impacts of climate change.
If we do this right, we can make sure the steps we take to fight pollution also build pathways for upcoming future. we then help to create a world where our kids can breathe clean air and drink clean water; where we're safe and resilient in the face of storms.
