the following questions are pertaining to an ultrasound. what is the "illumination" source (where does the energy come from)? what interaction are you measuring (reflection, refraction, absorption)? what is the image detecting (what information do you get from the image)?
We know that, Ultrasound is a medical imaging technique that uses a high frequency sound waves and their echoes.
(a) Transducer Probe is the "illumination" source. It is the main part of ultrasound machine. The transducer probe makes the sound waves and receives the echoes. The transducer probe generates and receives sound waves using a principle which is called as the piezoelectric effect.
Basically, the laser is coaxially positioned on a two-dimensional mechanical scanner with a focused ultrasonic transducer.
(b) We are measuring a refraction. Actually, bending at the boundary between media of different velocities. Refraction increases with the angle of an incidence.
(c) Image detection is the process of identifying and detecting an object in a digital image or video. Basically, it is used in many applications like systems for factory automation, toll booth monitoring and security surveillance.
Typical image detection algorithms which include as :
Machine learning and deep learning methods which can be useful approach to an image detection.
