1) A Closed-loop Control System is also called as a feedback control system. These systems are designed to control a process parameter at a desired value. A measuring element is used to measure the outlet condition of the process parameter and a signal is sent to comparator known as a feedback signal. Now comparator compares this signal value with the set point (reference input given to control system) which in turn generates an error signal which is the difference between the output and the reference input.

eg. Suppose we have to control the temperature of a water in a water heating system. Now in such condition, we provide a set point to the heating system which is desired water temperature (if we want water at 500 C, we set the temperature to 500 C). Now the measuring element like a temperature detector will continuously measure the temperature of water and will provide a feedback signal to the comparator. Now the comparator will compare the setpoint given to it and the feedback signal. If there is any variation between desired and actual condition then a corrective action will be taken.

So a closed-loop control system generates a negative feedback which is proportional to the deviation of the system from set i.e. it responds to changes in conditions, the feedback signal is given based on variable being controlled and it does have a controller which has an input based on the difference between the set value and the fed back value for the variable being controlled.
