List and describe the four permitted Business Level Strategies? List and describe why the instructor has prohibited the use of the fifth Business Level Strategy
The four permitted business-level strategies are as follows:
1. cost leadership- companies here emphasize on the price and competes for wider bases of customers. Prices are kept competitive so that the more number of customers purchase the services/products.
2. Differentiation- Instead of emphasizing on the lowest possible price, the customers are provided with products that have value-added features and benefits.
3. Focused low cost- under this strategy, companies focus on s small market segment and also compete for providing products and services and competitive price.
4. Focused differentiation- companies not only compete on the basis of differentiation but also focuses on a small market segment.
The fifth business strategy is the usage of integrated differentiation strategy or low-cost strategy and its usage are not recommended because if companies fail to manage and execute this strategy, then it will be stuck in the middle.
