Describe and explain and evaluate the final outcome of the Tiananmen Square massacre. Why did it happen the way it did?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Tiananmen Square massacre is considered one of the most notorious and cruel massacre in the world. It took place at Tiananmen Square on June 4 and 5 in 1989, where students assembled with the demand of the freedom of speech and political liberty. The main cause of gathering was the death of a communist leader Hu Yaobang. He demanded for the political liberty and more reformation in China against capitalism. There was growing poverty and unemployment.

Thousands of students assembled at Tiananmen Square and even common people also joined there. It became a growing irritation to the Chinese authority. Their main demand was democratic reform in China. They wanted the abolition of one-party led government. They also demanded the reformation of education law and economic law. At 1 am of 4th June the military attacked the Tiananmen Square demonstration. The Chinese military fired randomly. Thousands of students and common people were killed and injured. They also attacked military vehicles and burnt many vehicles. Many escaped and in the attack even tankers were used.

The whole world condemned such military attack. It is a black chapter in the world history. The students demanded the fundamental rights of the democracy, freedom of speech, economic reformation, education reformation and so on. Such demand was not illegal. But the Chinese authority took steps like coward.

China is a communist party led state and the aim of the communism is to work on behalf of the proletariat. But there we find the opposite. It is the most heinous violation of the human rights. Such a cruel step can never be supported. In the world history such brutal step never appears. The ruthless killing of the innocent people can never be supported.
