Derive and discuss the steady state flux of one species, H2O, where no chemical reaction occurs. Investigate the diffusion of H2O and show the complete derivation using Fick's First Law and discuss the mass transfer in such a system containing only one species and no chemical reaction occurs.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Here only H20 is diffusing through non diffusing species B (let say air or other any medium)..by using ficks's law..I derived study state flux..I hope you understand well..

Suppose that the the economy is in a steady state where the capital stock per worker is above the golden-rule level. Illustrate this situation. To obtain the golden rule steady state, how should house- holds change their rate of savings? Suppose that the saving rate decreases at time t0. On a graph plot c, k, and i against t and show how the economy adjusts between the original and the new steady-state. Briefly explain why each variable is changing in...

Chemical species A, B, C, D and E are involved in a reaction. They may represent reactants, products, intermediates, catalysts or inhibitors. The rate of change in the concentration for each of them is given below: d[A]/dt = -k1[A][B] + k-1[C][B] + k2[C][D] - k-2[A][E] d[B]/dt = 0 d[C]/dt = k1[A][B] - k-1[C][B] - k2[C][D] + k-2[A][E] d[D]/dt = -k2[C][D] + k-2[A][E] d[E]/dt = k2[C][D] - k-2[A][E] a) Write down the elementary steps in the proposed reaction mechanism that are...
