less than 500 words and mentioning the source

please write it in word or pdf

Solutions

Expert Solution

Renewable energies are those which can't be depleted and they continue to fullfill the demand on human time scale.

a) Industrial process heat :

- Introduction: It is the use of thermal energy for transformation and manufacturing of various industrial goods by use solar energy as a source.

- In the system optimized heat transfer mechanisms are used. Material transformation such as heating, drying, curing and phase change etc for the processing of rubber, metals etc

- Now a days bio fuels are also used with the renewable source to achieve a good capacity.

b) Chemistry applications :

- Introduction: The challenges to use renewable energy including energy harvesting, energy storage, energy delivery etc can't be imagined without use of modern green energy chemistry applications.

- Energy derivation its its processing and collection needs modern chemistry principles and the fields like electrochemistry are well known.

- These fullfill the gap between the natural renewable energy source and the storage of energy for its use.

- Hydrogen cells, photovoltaic cells, biofuel cells etc are used to store energies for the use by humans finds chemistry applications.

c) Solar dryers :

- Introduction: These are the devices which makes the surrounding air warm by the use of solar energy and have various drying applications

- It is a good technique with very low cost and can be used in food technology field to make chambers with these dryers keep food hot and preserved for longer duration.

Also used in agricultural fields used to extract humidity from crops etc and used fir drying clothes.

- These are of 2 types direct and indirect

Under direct it is a chamber which converts solar energy to heat directly and in indirect systems are used to avoid dirt and other particles in air.

In an industrial process, 20 mm diameter spherical steel ball bearings are heat-treated to improve their durability. For application (1), the entire ball bearing needs to be heated evenly to 1000 K. For application (2), only the outer 1 mm of the ball is to be heated to a temperature in excess of 1000 K. The properties of the ball bearing are c = 0.5 kJ/kg*K; p = 7800 kg/m3; k = 50 W/m.K.
