Following ways could be adopted to create strong ties and greater social capital in unrelated groups:
(1) Bonding networks can be made of close ties, by making friends with the neighbors of different communities. These connections provide security and help people get by in times of need.
(2) Bridging networks can be made which are generally weaker ties and these are usually among people with different backgrounds, or people engaged in different occupations or organizations. These connections help people get ahead and later form bonding networks which are stronger.
(3) Linking networks can be made as connections between different community residents and community leaders or institutions. These connections help people access resources and bring about change.
(4) Organizing social and inter-community feasts and programs to learn about each other.
(5) Respecting beliefs and values of diverse communities.
(6) Helping each other to foster good relationships and social capital.
