a) State and Explain with examples each, three (3) challenges faced by small businesses in the era of Covid-19. (15marks)
b) Mr. Kumah wants to cultivate perishable goods in Sogakope; a business which he has saved money for. Discuss three (3) post-operative problems he is likely to encounter.
Answer a:
Three challenges faced by small businesses in the era of Covid-19:
1. Business cannot operate their production facilities as they have no human resources coming to the office. This is resulting into their production loss.
2. Small businesses are not much technologically upgraded so that they can even operate their business by asking their employees to work from home. This leads into the loss of their business.
3. In the situation of Covid19, customers are not ready o spend their savings in the non essential items. Citizens are now purchasing only their daily needs as that have been compelled by the government. This has resulted into the loss of the sales of the business.
Answer b:
Three post-operative problems Mr. Kumah is likely to encounter are:
1. Perishable goods require suitable temperature to be maintained while storing them. Thus, Kumah will be required to invest huge amounts in refrigeration and air conditioning of the inventory warehouse.
2. Kumah needs to invest in the transport vehicles that have refrigeration and air conditioning system installed within it.
3. Kumah needs to have continuous customer orders for the products. Since the products are perishable in nature, they cannot be stored for longer period of time. And if the decayed products come in contact with the good products then they are also prone to go into the bad state.
