What preventions are in place? Being almost a month out from November 3rd election day, are we ready? Research this question and answer it .
Political hacking has always been a threat to all kinds of organizations. There are also ways by which governments sponsor different attacks against other parties and governments. It can cause real disruptions. However, governments have now started ramping up various cyber security operations.
Prevention measures:
The government has been very clever when it comes to identifying these risks and hacking tactics. There are also central agencies assigned the task of defending against such attacks. These agencies such as CISA in the US offer updated data on security activities. This has helped in getting information on time about exploits and security issues. These in depth analysis scenarios help in understanding the threat and prevent it from happening.
However, it is also essential not to just rely on the support of such a kind. The insider threats can't be avoided by such support. This is because such attacks don't come with delay in the planning and execution. There is no way to alert them. Therefore, inside threat modeling is also required to be in place. Which is possible with government officials who handle inside activities.
