discuss three kinds of ethical issues face by businesses and give solution for these issues
Ethics can be coined as a philosophy or moral principle which clearly demonstrate between right and wrong behavior, the absence of which could give scope to ethical issues. Ethical issues have always been a challenge for business owners. Now, these consist of a wide array of areas within any organization's core values, following the report of 'Global Business Ethics survey ' for 2019, where almost 25% of the world employees consider their manager lacks a good understanding of the ethics and business compliances. There are several contributing factors for this issue to arise -
1. Harassment and Discrimination - one of the largest contributors in this ill practice is 'Harassment and Discrimination'. The occurrence of such practice in business would be disastrous for the businesses in both ways - financially and also reputation-wise. As a practice to stop and abolish such activities before taking place what could be one is - employees must be aware of their anti-discrimination laws and regulations. They should know when to react. Some crucial statutes enforced by EEOC are mentioned below -
2. Whistleblowing on social media - with social media's global spread, the question of firing and punishing for their online post is very complicated. However, implications must be there only if there is some harm to the business. I mean is for any social media post which has feedback form employees they should be fired only when it harms the business and not otherwise.
3. Nondisclosure policy - this appears to us from time to time, employees may risk the business by disclosing crucial information or even steal the data to the direct competitors for small benefits. Whenever intellectual properties are stolen this results in corporate espionage which must be dealt with utmost seriousness as it will harm the business and employees. To stop such practices the business must enforce some non-disclosure agreements wherein strict financial penalties should be enforced for the defaulters and even imprisonment if rules are violated.
