One of a sales managers primary duties is to keep the members of their sales force motivated. When a sales person is motivated they will work hard and smart, which typically leads to results. Ideally you hire people with a high level of self motivation, but even these people will need a push now and then. A common misconception is that all employees are motivated by money - Just throw more money (or the potential for more money) at them and they will work harder. While money motivates all of us to a certain extent, studies show that there is a limit after which money does not motivate.

For this discussion assume you have a sales force that is very well paid bit is lacking motivation to do more (Giving them additional money is not an option). Now describe a specific way you feel you could increase their motivation and explain why you think this will work.

Answer--A specific way to increase sales team motivation(without money motivation) and how it will work are--

1.Office Environment--Sales and sales team is backbone for any companies,sales team is responsible for the overall revenue and profits of the company that's why office environment is very key factor for the motivation for sales team.A positive and pressure less office environment leads to increase in effectiveness and efficiency of the sales team whereas a negative and full of pressure office environment will lead to decrease in efficiency of the employees.

2.Ownership and responsibility --It is type of motivation in which manager will show some confidence on sales team employees by giving them some ownership of the task and in the achievement of the sales team gets full responsibility of it.

3.Development Trainings--It is the type of training in which all the sales team came together to have a development training by the senior managers of the company ,in which employees are motivated in way to how to increase the sales of the goods and services and what are tricks and techniques to motivates the consumers for the consumption of the product.

4.Rewards--Presenting rewards to the employees which is in the form of other then cash like vacation tickets,dinner with sales team,movie time with employees,etc.

5.Time management--Time is very important factor for the achievement of the sales targets,all the employees should have the techniques to manage the time for the achieve of sales goals,if someone failed to achieve the target then managers should help them in how to achieve the goal within the time.
