Ethical issues in business:
1)Harassment and discrimination:-now a days we can see that many employers and employees are facing the problem of wage inequality(means wages differ from one employee to on other),racial discrimination,sexual harassment- these all factors are consider as a ethical issues .but according to civil rights act of 1964, no employee should be discriminated based on his sex or gender.company or employer should give same respect to each and every employee or they should each everyone equally.if there is any unequal treatment due to his ethnicity ,this will be consider as a disparate treatment.harassment not only makes employees miserable,it can affect their pay and their career.according to federal discrimination laws there should not be any discrimination in work place such as race which includes color national or immigrant status. Gender ,pregnancy,marital status and breastfeeding,age,disability,sexual orientation .
Telling insulting jokes about racial groups,sending explicit emails or messages, displaying racially offensive postures ,making fun of persons disability or asking intrusive questions about some ones personal life -- all these will be treated as discrimination and harassment issues.
Company and employer can take some steps to avoid harassement and descrimination at work place...Now a days many companies are conducting a training based on harrassment and discrimination.most employers ate anxious when they faced with discrimination and harassment complaints because that kind of complaints May lead to government investigations .employer should treat complainer with respect and compassion and he should not punish someone for complaining about discrimation or harassment.many managers will terminate complainer or they will deduct salary of complainer or they provide demotion to complainer,all this should not happen by employer.employer should keep it confidential and take further action.all these steps will definitely help each and every employee to be confident safe and secure in work place.
protecting clients privacy--protecting clients privacy is clearly one of the psychologists top ethical priorities.many companies are not following the rule of clients privacy protection.violation of privacy trust or security constitute a risk thus a threat to security.privacy breaches disturb trust and run the risk of diluting or losing security.it is a kind of disrespect the companies showing to the law,and it can be considered as violation of ethical principles.if companies not following the protection of client privacy unauthorized person can access the privacy data of the company ,and it may lead to risk.it is employer's and employees responsibility to protect the data of client.privacy issues arise when data are collected and stored .the handling of digital personal data is of major concern because of the processing possibilities and the potential to link vest amounts of personal data.the information can be provided from a variety of sources and in various formats such as it includes,a state related records like tax filings,,bank records financial transaction records,providing the data of clients to anyone who is an authorised person,individual or collective information.criminal records,business cash flow details,business earning details,
Many companies announces that their customers confidential data has been hacked.this will happen only because of the negligence of corporate business.if company or employer is negligent about their security it will definitely become as ethical issue.
keeping employees safe-it is the duty of each and every company to keep their employee is safe and secure.but now a days many employees are dying due to the negligence of company.many companies having health and safety professionals at their company.his main goal is to achieve a safe and healthy workplace and to improve the health of the workforce.
managers can conduct meetings regarding the health and safety program to prprevent ddeath iin company.company policies are designed to create a safe workplace.for example if a fire exit is not working it is the company duty to inform two employees and to get it repaired soon.
