1) If a customer provides us an email address, does this automatically mean that we have the right to use it in our marketing materials? Why or why not? What can we do to help alleviate any misunderstandings that may occur if we misread our customers intent when the customer gave us their email address?

2) What information other than the basic customer contact information like name and address do you believe is the most important to collect for marketing purposes? Why do you feel that way?

answer-

1- Customer's information is very important for marketers because they use such information for marketing activities like promotion but if a customer proviide their email address then we have no right to use it in our marketing materials because it can create issue of violating privacy of customers and use thier email without thier consent. It could cause problem for marketers where customers may call complaints like why they are receiving promotional messages even if they did not ask or subscribe for that.

We can alleviate any misunderstandings that may occur if we misread our customers intent when the customer gave us their email address by proper discussing with customers either on call or face to face when they gave their email address. we can ask customers directly that they like to have promotional and marketing messages on thier email and they give thier consent to it or not. Having communication and keeping things clear will remove all kinds of misunderstanding.

2- The information other than the basic customer contact information like name and address i believe is the most important to collect for marketing purposes is customer's interest, like/dislikes. attitude, buying behavior, income level, occupation, family size, education level etc.

These things are very important information about customers because these information help marketers to get a insight of customer and then marketer can make good marketing strategy.

for example- you can not make marketing strategy based on name and address of customer but you can make marketing strategy and promotion what customers like to buy, how much they are willing to pay with thier income, what kind of brand they like premium like apple or Audi or low cost like xioami or Maruti suzuki etc.
