Ans 1 : Width of an Egress unit is 36 inches for new buildings and 28 for inches for existing buildings, according to Code BC1005 (2014) . If the number of people are 300 , the required width of exits serving 300 people would be : 300 x 0.2 per person = 60 inches which means that the egress doors which are present over there , it should have a total of 60 inches of clear width .
