The Ministry of Health is currently working with researchers around New Zealand to gather and analyze information about the spread of COVID 19 and how to control it Give an example of how they are using, or could potentially use, descriptive, predictive, or prescriptive analytics to assist.
Ministry of health can use the data of spread of the disease to know the possible spread in the future of the disease by the help of mathematical models they can use the descriptive analytics to adequately study the previous data i.e past date to know the spread in a different part of the country, in turn, the ministry can use the past data and predict the future by using the past model to put it in the current state of spread to know what can happen in future i.e using predictive analytics so knowing that spread can reach x number of cases in various part of the country health ministry can do the prescriptive analytics, will make several courses of actions and possible implications of each of the actions to stop the spread. e.g. past data showed that the spread in the southern part of the country is increasing constantly using this they try to predict the future rate and number by means of forecasting tools and make possible strategy like lockdown etc and measure the possible impact of it by using the prescriptive analytics so through this they can adequately seek out a strategy to slow the spread.
