SSL certificates and cost:
SSL certificates are sometimes cheap and sometimes expensive. It depends on the choice of the certificate and the website in use. The strongest encryption is known to be AES or advanced encryption standard. This is because when compared with other styles, it offers 10 times better security and is much faster.
Certification authorities that are considered to be more secure are RapidSSL, DigiCert, and Symantec. Apart from this, GeoTrust is also considered secure.
There are many certificate authorities that have been hacked and compromised. Symantec and DigiNotar are some of these.
