  1. Quality factor is commonly prominent feature in frequency response analysis as it is to measure the sharpness of the resonance peak.
    1. Explain in your own words to distinguish the characteristics of quality factors ad bandwidth for both RLC series and parallel resonance circuits.
    2. Identify the type of filter can be used to select specific signal of one particular radio station. Justify your answer with the aid of example of application.

ANSWER i)))) series resonance occurs when Resistamce,Inductance Capacitance arrrangement creates minimum impedance to the source

whereas parallel resonance occurs when the arrangement of RLC elements creates maximum impedance to the source.parallel resonance occurs when the arrangement of RLC elements creates maximum impedance to the source.

In series resonance circuits Q-factor gives tvoltage magnification of the circuit.

whereas in a parallel circuit gives current magnification.

SERIES RESONANCE

The magnification of the voltage drop as a ratio of the input (supply) voltage is

where R, L and C are the resistance, inductance and capacitance.

PARALLEL RESONANCE

BANDWIDTH OF SERIES RESONANCE CKT

Hz

ANSWER ii)))

Radio signal from many Tx pass through the air simultaneously without interfering with each other and are received by the antenna. To separate out the desired radio station, the bandpass filter allows the frequency of the desired radio transmission to pass through, and blocks signals at all other frequencies.

Bandpass filter consists of one or more resonant ckts .Resonant ckt is connected between the antenna input and ground. When the incoming radio signal is at the resonant frequency, resonant ckt has high impedance and the radio signal from the desired station is passed to different stages in receiver. for all other frequencies resonant ckt behaves as low impedance ckt, so signals of  these frequencies are passed to ground.

Define quality factor. How would you go about improving the quality factor of a maximally flat low pass filter with cutoff frequency of 1.3GHz and out of band rejection of at least 20dB at 2GHz? how does an improved quality factor translate in a filter's response? what are two tradeoffs to doing that?

A factor in determining the usefulness of an examination as a measure of demonstrated ability is the amount of spread that occurs in the grades. If the spread or variation of examination scores is very small, it usually means that the examination was either too hard or too easy. However, if the variance of scores is moderately large, then there is a definite difference in scores between "better," "average," and "poorer" students. A group of attorneys in a Midwest state...
