ANS: TRADEMARK IS A WORD OR PHRASE THAT DIFFERENTIATES IT FROM ALL OTHERS OF SAME KING. IT MEANS THAT A SPECIFIC PRODUCT BELONGS TO A SPECIFIC COMPANY. IT IS THE LEGAL RIGHT THAT A COMPANY POSSES ON ITS TRADEMARKED PRODUCTS OR SERVICES OR DESIGNS. ANYBODY USING THE TRADEMARKED PRODUCT FOR FURTHER TRADE WITHOUT THE NOTICE OF THE COMPANY IS AN ILLEGAL ACT. IN THE GIVEN CASE ABOVE OF XEROX, THE COMPANY TRADEMARKED THE NAME XEROX WHICH MEANS THAT NO OTHER COMPANY, WITHOUT ITS PERMISSION, CAN USE THE NAME EITHER MODIFYING IT OR COPYING ITS STYLE. TRADEMARK JEOPARDY ARISES WHEN OTHER OMPANY USES THE NAME WITH MINOR MODIFICATION IN THE SPELLINGS. IT USED 'XEROX' WITH SINGLE "R" ,WHICH IS AN ILLEGAL ACT, TO WHICH THE COMPANY REPLIED THAT THE NAME OF THEIR COMPANY IS BEING MISUSED. THEY ALSO ANNOUNCED THAT THE ORIGINAL 'XERROX' CONTAINS 2 R'S INSTEAD OF ONE. THIS WILL MAKE THE CUSTOMERS AWARE ABOUT THE DUPLICATE PRODUCT AND WILL HELP THEM TO IDENTIFY THE ORIGINAL ONE. THIS IS THE CASE OF VIOLATION OF THE TRADEMARK RIGHTS THAT THE COMPANY OWNS. IN RESPONSE TO THIS, THE COMPANY CAN SUE THE DUPLICATE 'XEROX' COMPANY TO USE ITS ORIGINAL NAME OR ELSE CAN ASK THE COMPANY TO STOP USING ITS NAME.
