Neuromuscular Junction is the junction between A Nerve Fibre and a muscle fibre. It contains-
a.Pre synaptic membrane:Membrane of nerve Fibre
b.Synaptic Cleft:A gap between Nerve fibre and muscle fibre.
c.Post synaptic membrane:Membrane of muscle fibre.
The 2 Important Ion channels in the Neuromuscular junction are-
a.Voltage Gated Calcium channels:
*Voltage Gated Calcium channels are found in the presynaptic membrane.
*When action potential reaches Presynaptic axon terminal--Axon terminal Depolarisation occur-----This causes Opening of voltage gated Ca2+ channels---This calcium binds to Synaptic vesicles--this Causes fusion of Synaptic vesicle with pre synaptic Membrane ---which results in the Release of Neurotansmitter(Acetyl CHoline) into Synaptic Cleft.
b.Voltage gated Na+ channels:
When Neurotransmitter which is released into Synaptic cleft binds to its receptor in the post synaptic membrane--Some positive Ions enter post synaptic Membrane---This cuases Opening of Voltage gated Na+ channels--Rapid Na+ iNfulx causing depolarisation of Post synaptic membrane.
