1. I do not believe that most businesses are meeting its responsibilities to its consumers. Most companies are more worried about making a profit rather than ensuring that their product is ready to be placed on shelves. Too many times you see kids items that are not safe or even incorrect labeling which can be just as dangerous. Companies are more worried about quantity over quality which in the end could end up costing them their entire business. In order to do better they should go over the consumer regulation acts that protect its consumers, it will save both them and the consumers both time and money.
2. I think it depends on the company and what they stand for. If you look at a company like Amazon it relies on the speed of service to get you the product that you need, however it also heavily relies on customer reviews for quality, competing with a better price than its competition that sells the same or similar product and return on product that is not safe for the consumer. Other companies like Dell in the beginning of their product did not really care for quality and just wanted to be a cheaper alternated for computers at the time and it worked well because there was not a lot of computer companies in the beginning, but over time Dell had to adapt to more quality driven product because of the number companies growing selling the similar product as them. Companies can do better by constantly testing their product for safety, quality, getting at a lower price point that competitors and invest in better package and labeling. Also one of the biggest thing that some companies these days seem to overlook is packaging which is a huge difference between and customer buying or not because if you think about that’s the first thing the customer sees is the packaging and labeling.
1. It is true that organizations today rely more on quantity than qualities and that is the reason where they give the opportunity to their competitors. I believe that organizations should actually be very much careful when they look at the quality perspective because it is very much important from an organizations point of view which needs to be taken care and that too as a priority. I believe this will give the organization a competitive advantage over its competitors.
2. If we look at the organizations like Amazon we will observe that it is one of the best in service to the customers and they have been doing that for quite a while now and the organizations who actually came into the business with a strategy not focusing on quality much, today are actually making it a point that quality is a priority. I think there is actually no substitute of quality so that should be maintained in all the levels of the product or service. The appearance of the product is also important which actually gives a essence of the organization and that should also be prioritized.
