The data can establish a pattern over an extended period of time. |
||
Over time, the participants can change in ways that can impact the data being collected. |

Longitudinal studies
Longitudinal study refers to a method of conducting a research by using repetitive observations. This research studies can be continued even for some months or years. This research method has some really big disadvantages such as
Disadvantages
Time taking method- The major disadvantage of a longitudinal research is that it takes a lot of time. This time can be even extended over some years which is really problematic. It takes a lot of valuable time of the researchers to reach a conclusion.
Sometimes Unreliable- Collecting single unreliable information can lead to the invalidated conclusion immediately. So gathering information for conducting a longitudinal study is quite risky and often leads to an unreliable result.
Issue of Sample size-The sample size is the biggest issue of longitudinal studies. A longitudinal research always needs a large same size which is sometimes really difficult. So if researchers need to conduct a successful longitudinal study they must have a huge number of people as their subjects.
Expensive- A longitudinal study is quite expensive. As it takes a lot of time to be completed so researchers need to spend a lot of money for a single topic. Apart from this, this study needs a huge number of subjects which can increase the total expense of the study.
Unpredictable- The result of a longitudinal study is really unpredictable sometimes. This study needs the same people as subjects for a long time. So if the same subjects are not found in a longitudinal study it can leads to an unpredictable result.
Therefore, OPTION B
Over time, the participants can change in ways that can impact the
data being collected
is not a drawback
