Calculate the amount of solution (g or mL) that contains each of the following amounts of solute.

5.2 g of LiNO3 from a 35 %(m/m) LiNO3 solution.

31.6 g of KOH from a 20.0 %(m/m) KOH solution.

3.1 mL of formic acid from a 18 %(v/v) formic acid solution.

Solutions

Expert Solution

35 %(m/m) LiNO3 solution means 35 g of LiNO3 present in 100g of soloution

                                                  5.2g of LiNO3 present in = 100*5.2/35 = 18.86 g of solution

20.0 %(m/m) KOH solution means 20g of KOH present in 100g of solution

                                                  31.6g of KOH present in = 100*31.6/20   = 158g of solution

18 %(v/v) formic acid solution means 18ml of formic acid present in 100ml of solution

                                                       3.1ml of formic reaction in = 100*3.1/18   = 17.22 ml of solution
