Column 1 | Column 2 |
Mitral valve | the left atrioventricular Valve |
Semilunar valve | the right semilunar valve |
tricuspid valve | the right atrioventricular valve |
Aortic valve |
heart valve between ventricle and great arteries the left semilunar valve |
The human heart is composed of 4 chambers they are the right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium and the left ventricle.
The venacavae opens into the right atrium and the right atria and ventricle is separated by the tricuspid valve that prevents the backflow of the blood during contraction of the right ventricle. The blood then enters the pulmonary artery guarded by the semilunar valve. The blood reaches the lungs, gets oxygenated and reaches the left atria via the pulmonary vein. The blood from the left aorta enters the left ventricle. They are separated by the mitral valve. The blood is then pumped by the left ventricle into the aorta. The aorta is guarded by the aortic semilunar valve.
