Definition :-- Surrealism. Philosophy. Surrealism is based on the belief in the superior reality of certain forms of previously neglected associations, in the omnipotence of dream, in the disinterested play of thought. It tends to ruin once and for all other psychic mechanisms and to substitute itself for them in solving all the principal problems of life. ------------------ According to the Encyclopedia.

In favour of changing the imperialist war in its chronic and colonial form, into a civil war.
They placed there energies at the disposal of the revolution, of the proletariat and its struggles.
And they defined there attitude towards the colonial problem, and hence towards the colour question.
Salvador Dalí :-------
"The fact that I myself, at the moment of painting, do not understand my own pictures, does not mean that these pictures have no meaning; on the contrary, their meaning is so profound, complex, coherent, and involuntary that it escapes the most simple analysis of logical intuition." ----------- Dali
He is the most versatile and prolific artist of the twentiat century and the most famous Surrealist. He speaks to his own subconscious life most directly because of freudian theory that build dali's attempt to duplicate a visual language capable at rendering his dreams and hallucination. These account for some of the iconic and universal images throug which Dali achieved tremendous fame during his lifetime and beyond.
He opted for his own self- created system of tapping the unconcious termed "Paranoiac critical", a state in which one could imitate delusion while maintaining one's sense.
