Will videoconferencing and text messaging replace face to face meetings?
Video conferencing is likely to replace face to face meetings there is too much hassle and higher time and resource consumption than the video or text messaging. To setup a face to face meeting, we first have to schedule the meeting and have to reach the meeting replace which takes a lot of time and money whereas video conferencing is instant, we can connect to any employee any time and achieve the same result as the face to face meetings or rather better. Video and text messaging are mainly informal and participants can communicate freely without the need for formal behavior. In video conferencing, the cognitive attention is heightened due to the self-awareness and familiar/comfort place. Also, the participants focus on the logical aspects of the conversation rather than the unimportant background details which attracts the attention and thus producing better results than the face to face meetings. But all communication can be performed on the video or text messaging like high-value deals, here the participants have to meet each other. In my opinion, video conferencing and text messaging is likely to replace most of the meetings if not all.
