How to prevent water pollution and elaborates, and also why water pollution still happens even when there is laws regarding environment protection?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Water pollution can be prevented if we understand the source of pollutants. There are various water sources such as under ground water, rivers, lakes, Wells, ocean, ponds etc.

First of all we also need to prevent wastage of water, because it creates additional need of treatment of contaminated water. Also by wasting water we are also increasing the amount of pollted water.

In domestic uses, we should not try to throw any oil, paint or other such hazardous chemical into sink or gutters. Because this will flow down to some big source & will pollute that source.

By limiting the pesticides and insecticide in farming, will also reduce water pollution. However these are important chemicals for agriculture purposes, but some other natural products can be used, or at least we can control it's excess use.

Industries situated near rivers many times throw their waste products without good treatment. However policies are there by their govts, but still few industries really don't care. So strict action against such practices will discourage them, and they will treat their waste products as per standards set by govt.

Plastic, biscuit or other edible product packagings are commont to see in rivers or around beaches. So by preventing such activities will stop water pollution in this way.

Water from surface runoff join small tributeries join River and rivers join ocean. So if take initiatives to prevent pollution at their originating point, it will ultimately be helpful for other sources in further path.

There are several internation and national laws in every country regarding environment protection, but still there is pollution. Reason is casual approach towards such laws. Theses laws in fact are not in practice in the full fledged manner. 2nd thing is lack of knowledge of effect of environment pollution in people/public. In many countries public is not well aware of the situation and future effect of such pollutions. They know what is pollution, but they think it as a matter of book/ news papers only. Govt by public campaigns or by awareness program can make them aware of the situation.

Untill every person of society is not aware about the cause, effect and prevention of pollution. We can't deal with it.
