Expert Solution

The hemodialysis machine is utilized in the process of dialysis which filters the blood of the patient to remove the excess water and the waste product when the kidney damage or in the dysfunctional form. The hemodialysis machine is used in the form of an artificial kidney. One can rely on this machine to filter the blood through the dialyzer. This is very effective in functioning because this purifies the blood.
1.The mechanism underlying the use of hemodialysis machine involved in the removal of excess waste of water by utilizing an external filter which is known as a dialyzer. Dialyser is the semipermeable membrane in which separation of waste is done through the counter-current flow gradient. This is also one of the most important section in which fluid of blood flow in the opposite direction. The mechanism is works on the principle of diffusion of ultrafiltration and solute in which fluid across the semipermeable membrane is responsible to purify the blood. With the help of diffusion, the substance in water moves from the area of high concentration to the area of low concentration.
2. The challenges that are associated with the use of hemodialysis machines involve technical issues. During dialysis therapy, some difficult and technical issues are observed with the patient and there with the machine. This can be related to operator problems and equipment. Some other technical issues can also be related to blood tubing for dialyzer rupture.
