This convention was conducted in order to unify the rules and regulations of the international carriage by air. The convention was held on 12th of October, 1929 and the convention was particularly been organised to decide on the rules and regulations associated with the passenger tickets, luggage tickets and the air consignment note. This Convention was applied to all international carriage of persons, luggage or goods shipped by aircraft. It applies equally to gratuitous carriage by aircraft performed by an air transport undertaking.
Objective and achievement of the Convention
The main objective of the convention was to make a single document of rules and laws that would be applied to the services being availed by the stakeholders and customers from the air transportation system for the international journey.
Policies implemented after the convention
The policies that were implemented after the convention was that the airline companies are liable for any damage that occurs to passengers or their belongings during an in-flight international service. However, airline companies will not be held responsible if the damage results from the passenger's own fault or one of their temporary servants such as doctors assisting ill passengers on their own initiative.
