Strayer, D. L., Drews, F. A., & Crouch, D. J. (2006). A comparison of the cell phone driver and the drunk driver. Human factors, 48(2), 381-391.

Identify the independent and dependent variable(s) studied. State the research hypothesis(es) concerning the variables that were studied. Identify the participants. Include any subject characteristics that were used as variables. State the major results of the study in terms of the hypothesis(es) and the conclusions drawn by the researcher(s). Paraphrase, using your own words; avoid using direct quotes. You don’t need to include all the statistics, just key results information. State your opinion of the study. Do you think the study was well-designed and conducted?

  1. Here the independent variable is cell phone and alchol and dependent variable is the subject driving the vehicle
  2. The hypothesis of this reseach is that the driver who is drunk and drivier who is using cell phone are in the same risk of road accident as the driver who is drunk gets more aggresive while driving and the the pearson who is attending a call their braking reactions were delayed.
  3. the participants were a drunken driver and a guy attending the phone call. Both were made to to use a high-fidelity driver
  4. the subject chrachterstics that were used as variables were the drunkenness of the man and engaging of driver in the phone call
  5. Result was When drivers were talking on either a handheld or hands-free cell phone, their braking reactions were late and they were involved in much more traffic accidents than when they were not attending a phone call. By contrast, when drivers were intoxicated from alchol they displayed a more aggressive driving style, following closer to the vehicle and immediately applying more force while braking.
  6. Conclusuion wasWhen driving conditions and time on task were controlled for, the impairments associated with using a cell phone while driving can be as profound as those associated with driving while drunk.
  7. My opinion is that This research truly shows the threat of talking while driving. Also this reseaerch was helpful to show that this threat is not less than te threat of drinking and driving this also may help many cocerned authorities to understand the situation and provide guidance for regulation addressing driver distraction caused by cell phone conversations
  8. Yes this research was totally well designed and conducted because in the folleing research no participants were hurted and this research was not done publically whic could've created distuerbance also the research gone totally well and it also allow us understand about the danger of life of others and ours

1. We know that an F+ cell can donate its F plasmid to a recipient cell to create a new F+ cell. But what about an Hfr? Can an Hfr transfer its DNA as well? (yes/no) Please explain your answer. Why did you answer yes or no? 2. Let’s just assume,, that an Hfr cell could transfer DNA. What would the recipient cell look like? What would it be called? F+? F-? Hfr+? Something else altogether? Please explain your answer.
