What is the difference between interpersonal racism and institutionalized racism? Provide an example of each. Which is most difficult to eradicate, and why
Institutional racism is something that would be happening between institutions and within institutions. This is a discriminatory treatment where unfair politicise may be implemented. These impacts are on the basis of race and are produced by a particular institution. People present in the institution would be taking on the power of institution as they would be acting in ways that would provide an unfair advantage or disadvantage ticertsin people, on the basis of race. Example: people of the darker race are not allowed to take an admit even at 70% and white people are given an admit at 60%.
Institutionalised racism: this is the kind of racism where people are discriminated against purposely. This is not laid only in an institution but in a society as a whole. This is a subtle form that would be present in the society, and would be portraying itself in different ways. The effects of institutionalised racism are not subtle and leaves great impact on people whom it is carried out against. Example: when African Americans would not be allowed to live in the communities of the whites.
The most difficult is the institutionalised one. Since, policies of the institution could be changed on paper and it would be implemented, but in order for institutionalised racism to change, the amendments have to be in the minds of people.
