Answer =
an ELISA can be used to detect SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) as follows:
ELISA that is enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) can be used for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 , because if the patient has been infected with SARS-CoV-2, there will be presence of antigen of this virus.
In the first step ,the sample particularly swab samples from infected person can be collected and detected.
steps :
1.The collection of sample from infected person.
2.addition of controls and diluted sample into the microwell coated with COVID -19 recombinant protein.
3.Then add HRP- labelled COVID- 19 tracer antibody. this antibody is called as a secondary antibody.and this antibody is tagged with a marker.
4.Then add substrate.
5.then add stop solution
6.If the sample contains or there is presence of viral antigen in the sample, then it will result in positive reaction, and which is shown by change in color.
7.If there is no viral antigen is present in sample then the color will not changed.
