Often times, parole boards will consider the recommendations of crime victims prior to releasing an offender on parole. Do you think it is a good idea for victims to have a voice in parole release? Why/why not?

Solutions

Expert Solution

This has become an issue recently in some countries.

  • The parole boards considering the victims voice for releasing an offender on parole.
  • This happen often times beacuse the victim can have opposite voice due to security reasons.

My opinion is this is a right way.

  • The offender's parole release should be based on recommendations by victim.
  • The matter here is the man who is getting parole is actually an offender or a person who did a crime.
  • Its actually his luck to get parole and there is no objection on victim getting his hands on that decision.
  • What security is there that the offender on release may go and create problems again with the victim ?
  • This actually a good choice of releasing on parole where he gets relaesed by the recommendation of victim.
  • This could possibly erase the enmity between the both.
  • For me its a right choice to make the victim recommend on the offenders parole release.
