The light we see the electromagnetic radiation that is boouncing off from an object

Can someone explain the concept of electromagnetic radiation?

The light we see the electromagnetic radiation that is boouncing off from an object,(not sure , it’s not being absorbed or not)?

Someone lelectromagentic radiation is emitted by substances when electrons goes to a lower energy state that is energy is reallease?

Can someone explain more? When a light is transmitted it does nothing to the system?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The electromagnetic radiation is a form of energy that is produced by oscillating eletric and magnetic disturbances ,or by the movement of electrically charged particle travelling through a vaccum or matter.

The electric and magnetic fileds comes right angle to each other and combined wave moves perpendicular to both magnetic and electric field

electromagnetic radiations behaves in the same way as light. whenit encounters an object they are either transmitted, reflected ,absorbed ,refracted ,polarised ,difracted or scattered depending on the composition of the object and the wavelenght of light

when a substance absorb electromagnetic radiation it is excited to higher energy level . when it comes back to the ground level this enengy is released if this energy release correspond to the wavelenght in visible region the corresponding colour will be emitted

when right is transmitted through a system the system doesnot undergo any change untill and unless the absorbtion of radiation take place. if the light is absorbed by the system the electrons and excited to higher energy state

Almost everything we know about the universe comes from information carried in electromagnetic radiation: radio waves, microwaves, X-rays, visible light, and gamma waves have been travelling to us for billions of years, all at the speed of light. Using spectroscopes that work on the same principle as the ones we used in lab, scientists read the line spectra that the hot gases emit to determine the elements that compose the stars. Explain.
