Cancer is one of the most common type of the human genetic disease . Yes it is a genetic disease. The transition from a normal cell in human body to a specifically malignant cancer cell is caused by changes to a cell’s DNA that is the genetic material , and this change in the genetic material is known as mutations.
Cells in the our body work together as well as , dividing and reproducing in a strictly controlled as well as in a very coordinated fashion .
Also DNA replication is an important part of the cell division, where the cell in our bidyy makes an identical copy of its genome before it divides in the body
‘Mutations can occur specifically during the DNA replication which will cause q , change in the genome of the new cell being made in the body.
Almost all the time the mistakes will be repaired quickly by the cell’s machinery, but in some acases mistakes or mutation will not change in the DNA and will remain same
If this specific mutations occur at the gene level that specifically control the growth that is the proto-oncogenes as well as the tumour suppressor genes then cell growth can occur an an increases rate , which can lead to tumour formation and cancer in the individual.
Proto-oncogenes specifically encourage the cell to multiply in the individual and If these genes in the individual become mutated then they will give the cell instructions to multiply all the time and are then known as oncogenes
Tumour suppressor genes are the genes that specifically stop the cell from multiplying. If these genes are specifically mutated and then stop working and this will lead to , cells to carry on multiplying again and again .
To specifically become cancerous, the cell must also acquire mutations in the several growth-controlling genes of the individual.
Mutations can also accumulate over many , many years before the cell can becomes cancerous and is the reason for many types of cancer to be more common in older people and this can also show an evidence that cancer is genetic in origin .
