You are practicing in the public schools; a mother tells you that she would like you to provide therapy for her child who has been diagnosed with tongue thrust. What would you tell her? Describe in detail.
Tongue thrust is a condition in human which is the common name of an oral myofunctional disorder . It is a dysfunctional muscle pattern where the tongue of the individual protrudes anterior or to the lateral side during swallowing, in between speech or when the tongue is at rest.
We can teach her how to give tongue thrust therapy to the Child
Teaching this ti mother and child will provide a frequent intervention and Exersice to thw child
Explain to mother they their determination will help in reversing the Condition
Frequent effort will help
Make sure the child do the steps correctly
