Tongue thrust is a condition in human which is the common name of an oral myofunctional disorder . It is a dysfunctional muscle pattern where the tongue of the individual protrudes anterior or to the lateral side during swallowing, in between speech or when the tongue is at rest.

We can teach her how to give tongue thrust therapy to the Child

  1. The initial step is by placing a very small orthodontic rubber band specifically at the very top of the tongue
  2. Then press the part that is the tip of the tongue towards the gum of the roof of the mouth that is behind the upper front teeth region
  3. Next is to bite the teeth togather as we do in regular bites . Bit should not be forward
  4. Lips should be kept apart and finally
  5. We have to swallow

Teaching this ti mother and child will provide a frequent intervention and Exersice to thw child
