Challenges faced by medical social workers :

a) Working with patients who are facing multiple psycho - social problems. It involves the demand of medical social worker to deal with the problem effectively.

b) Factors such as lack of proper fund , lack of team work and centralized decision making should not be made vague by a Medical Social Welfare Officer.

c) To witness a situation , when the patients are working through physical ,mental and emotional trauma , hardship etc are really stressful for the medical social workers. The treatment can be emotionally draining.

d) Toughest part would include ; communication, meeting the administrative demands etc .

e) The most challenging part is when a patient dies.

f) The caring system is not systematic in nature , hence leading to barriers in adminstrative system .

g) The landlords of the house do not care to have time for repairing . Repairing the house would help the home to live in a healthier way .

h) The job is physically exhausting.

Interdisciplinary team plans to work in a participatory action research framework .
